Depoe Bay is the world’s smallest navigable harbor! The area features breathtaking views of the coast line, is Oregon’s Whale Watching Hot Spot, has fantastic nearby crabbing, clamming, and fishing opportunities, and is perfectly located between the larger cities of Lincoln City and Newport. Visitors can walk along the seawall, watch for whales from the observation center across the street from us, enjoy storm & whale watching at Boiler Bay at the north end of town, or head south to Rocky Shores to picknick at the state park. Cape Foulweather is 500 ft above sea level, offers amazing vistas of the coast line, is a prime location for whale watching, features a quaint gift store, and is about 10 minutes south of Depoe Bay. The Otter Crest Loop is just south and is a fantastic drive that has some of the best views on the Oregon Coast and takes you right to Devils Punch Bowl, an awesome place for tide-pooling during low tide! You can even try the famous clam chowder at Moe’s while you’re there, or sample the wines at the Flying Dutchman. There’s so much to do in and around Depoe Bay!
There are also lots of nearby areas for hiking, kayaking, and of course, looking for hidden glass floats on the beaches of Lincoln City (Finders Keepers).
There is no public transportation. The shops, restaurants, ocean views, and museum are all within easy walking distance, if not right next door or across the street!
